This year’s theme, The Bookstore Is the Main Character, is our love letter to the quirks and chaos of bookshop life. From quiet corners and surprise finds to big book energy and late-night trivia showdowns—we’re packing the day with literary fun, connection, and celebration.

Looking for a cozy, no-pressure way to connect with fellow book lovers? Join us at 11 AM for a Silent Book Club—our calm, quiet, introvert-friendly way to celebrate Independent Bookstore Day.
Here’s how it works:

• Bring whatever book you're currently reading (or pick one up while you’re here!)
• Settle into a comfy spot anywhere in the store
• We’ll kick things off with a brief hello, and then… we read. Quietly. Together. For 45 minutes.

It’s like a book club—but with no assigned reading, no discussion pressure, and no spoilers. Just good books, cozy vibes, and community.

BONUS: All Silent Book Club attendees will receive a 10% off coupon to use on a future visit (coupon not valid on April 26).

Banned Book Bingo

Available All Day (10 AM – 6 PM)

Censorship is real. Resistance is fun.
Join us for Banned Book Bingo, a self-guided, store-wide scavenger hunt highlighting books that have been banned or challenged across the country—many for simply reflecting the world as it is.
How it works:

• Pick up a Banned Book Bingo card at the front desk
• Explore the store and find titles that match the wild, real reasons books are banned—like “Gay Gay Gay Gay Gay”, “Witchcraft?”, “By a Transgender Author”, or “Encourages Social Emotional Learning (Yes. Empathy.)”
• Complete a row (or go for blackout!) and return to the register for a small prize
• Snap a photo with your bingo card or favorite banned book and post it with #ReadFreely—don’t forget to tag @fourseasonsbooks!

This activity is part scavenger hunt, part protest, and 100% celebration of the freedom to read. Come learn, laugh, and maybe gasp a little at what’s been challenged—and support the stories that refuse to be silenced.
