Is Your Book a Good Fit for Our Shelves? First, let us say: we have huge respect for indie authors and small presses. We know the passion, hustle, and heart it takes to bring a book into the world. That’s why we’ve put together clear guidelines to keep the process professional, manageable, and (hopefully) successful for both you and Four Seasons Books.
To be considered for our inventory, your book must:
Not be published or printed through Amazon, KDP, CreateSpace, or any Amazon-affiliated service
Be professionally packaged (this includes cover design, editing, and formatting — your book deserves to look as good as it reads)
Be appropriately priced for the market (we’re happy to advise on typical price ranges if you’re unsure)
Be suitable for our audience and store inventory (bonus points if there’s a local tie-in to Shepherdstown, West Virginia, or the Appalachian region)
Be recently published (within the last 6 months or not yet released)
Review Fee: Because of the volume of requests we receive, there is a non-refundable $25 fee to have your book reviewed by our buyers.
If your book is accepted and sells more than 4 copies within one year, we’ll happily refund this fee.
A Few More Important Notes:
We do not accept phone calls, walk-ins, or drop-ins regarding stocking or event requests.
Books dropped off for review will not be returned.
